Pickup

All pickup games are organised on WhatsApp groups each week to confirm numbers, so please join the groups to check if a game is going ahead on the day. You can join the pickup WhatsApp community using the WhatsApp icon below. From there you will have access to all the WhatsApp groups for the various pickups. More detailed descriptions of when and where it happens are usually in the whatsapp group descriptions.

Rondebosch |📍RBHS

Mondays 5:15pm & Sundays at 3pm
Rondebosch Boys' High Sports fields, Oakhurst Ave
No soccer boots or studs allowed

Pinelands |📍Scoville Oval

Thursdays at 5:15pm
Scoville Cricket Oval, bottom field
No soccer boots or studs allowed

Maties Pickup |📍Coetzenburg B fields

Wednesdays 5:50pm
Sundays at 4pm
Coordinated by students, so less active during the holidays
Increased pickups (2-3 times/week) are organised during exam times (Jun/Nov)

UCT Social |📍Woolsack Oval

Fridays 5pm
Woolsack Cricket Oval, Middle campus, UCT
Coordinated by students, so might be less active during the holidays

Beach Pickup |📍Clifton

Sundays: Clifton 1st/2nd (whichever is available)
First pull 9-10 am, earlier in summer to get beach space
Details are usually confirmed on the WhatsApp group a few days before

Beach Pickup |📍Muizenberg

Sat/Sun: 9.30am behind colourful huts
Nearest parking would be the water slides

* What is a 'pickup'?

It's casual games of Ultimate Frisbee (also called social frisbee)
Players of any skill level are welcome — newbies included.
It's a great place to start and to improve your skills
Pickup is open to the public — membership is not required to participate

What to bring?

Plenty of water
On grass: cleats (soccer boots) or tekkies (if the venue prohibits cleats)
On the beach: barefoot
Both a white and a dark shirt (please, no grey shirts)
