SA Nationals 2006 Video
Like Nick Cage in a bad treasure hunt movie, I have discovered and dusted the cobwebs off my old hard drive and recovered my video editing project from Nationals ‘06.
Yes, its beyond overdue, and might be outdated to the point of antiquity, but that makes it even more cool to watch. See some old legends in full action and see some current legends looking younger, fitter and with more hair. Witness the scraggly beginnings of teams that grew to dominate, awesome full game footage, many magic game moments and off-field extras…
This was a labour of love and I want to share it, but to help cover cost of discs, boxes, printing and postage the prices are as follows:
Single DVD R50
Pack of 5 R200 (R40/DVD)
Pack of 10 R300 (R30/DVD)

The start of 2009 and the Cape Town Ultimate Summer League, has inspired a few changes in the usual lineup of league teams. While a few teams might have dissolved during the long and wet winter hibernation, out of the ashes of the cosy living room fire has emerged a phoenix… in zebra print clothing!
Zebru - a name combining African inspiration and brotherhood in the ‘bru‘- has formed by bringing together a balanced collection of players that are experienced and learning, quiet and loud, and fast and lazy…
Recently seen storming the Ultimate fields in some rather obnoxious shorts, the team has vowed to become a spirited competitor on and off the pitch. Team captain, Steve Crawford, was recently overheard quoting the Zebru philosophy:
“A team that encourages and develops a love for all aspects of Ultimate: the game, the Spirit, and the social interactions. The goals of Zebru are to have fun, develop good fundamental Ultimate skills and knowledge, provide a good environment for introducing new players to the game, and create a team that is respected as much for performance as they are for Spirit.”
With the Summer League already nearing its end and autumn snapping at their hooves, the team is already looking forward to the next challenge on the Ultimate calendar…
