1 commentChilli win summer league
News just in from Brent:
Hi All
The Captains and the organising committee have been discussing the end of summer league. We were scheduled to play another round, but I think we have learnt our lesson playing competitive ultimate after Nationals.
Even though there are a few make up games from Round 2, we are going to end it as is. No other teams can catch Chilli so the games would have been academic.
Well done Chilli! Your trophy will be on the way shortly.
We have a few things up our sleeves to take us in winter which we’ll share shortly.
Keep em flying

Watch this space, and the league page, for info on what’s to come in winter.
No commentsThe aftermath…
Well, Nationals has been and gone. And what a Nationals it was! It’s taken about two weeks to get pickup games back up and running, nevermind the knees and feet that needed recovering!
Read the report in the local press here, as well as a podcast with Brent, Asanda, Phindile and Max on the state of Ultimate in SA.
Congrats to Sweet Chilli who emerged unbeaten and the new National Champions with a convincing win over Jo’burg’s Ultitude in the final.
A big thanks to all the organisers who helped put together a most successful tournament. The weather was perfect, the fields were fantastic and the level of ultimate in SA seems to grow and grow. Thanks too to the teams who came down and made it the success that it was. We had teams joining us all the way from PMB, Mozambique, Stellenbosch, Khaya, 2 teams from Jo’burg and 3 CT teams. An especially exciting new first time appearance was a LoveLife team made up of the top LoveLife players from around the country. Watch out folks – the way LoveLife is taking ultimate around the country, they will be the national champions in a few years!
Now that Nationals is over, the next big thing on the calendar is World’s in Vancouver in August!
