In other news, UCT hosted a bunch of kids at UCT in an outreach event. Nice one guys!

Call for nominations for the CTFDA Players Award

CTFDA would like to acknowledge and honour our players for their commitment to SOTG and contribution to the Cape Town Ultimate community. We require the input of each and every registered player to help us select and award one female & one male player who you feel most embodies the following characteristics:

– Exhibit integrity and fairness on and off the field
– Have a high standard of playing ability
– Have excellent knowledge of the rules of Ultimate and their application
– Be committed to the sport and its growth in South Africa
– Be a role model to fellow community members
– Have a positive attitude
– Display self-control on the field
– Deals with on-field calls in a mature manner

The award period would start at Summer League and run until the end of Nationals (so it includes all leagues, tournaments and events until end of April). Nominations open today (Monday 9 May) and close Monday 16 May. The nominees will be made known by Wednesday 18 May and will be voted for by the entire CTU community via an electronic survey. In the case of ties, CTFDA will deliberate and make the final decision. Please note: only registered CTFDA members will be eligible for the award. Awards will be made at the CTFDA AGM.

Message from Salusa

While the World’s Teams are ramping up their training for competition in June, those left on Salusa are keen to continue playing co-ed ultimate on Monday Nights. This Monday we are taking on the Women’s World team tonight at Wynberg. If there are other teams keen to play please contact Sam on 0764710314, otherwise we will host pick-up.
